User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsBeing Nigerian, going to "african" restaurants especially, west african ones, makes me a little leery... either comparing the food to my own cooking, or others's that I have had. This restuarant, Bennachin, definitely had me swallowing my words, literally! The ambiance was simple but nice, the food was, to say the least, delicious, I went for seconds and then some, needed to adjust my pants at the waist, and wow, can I say the best "ila asepo" and fufu that I have had in forever and a day! Okay enough said. If you ever go to, drive-by NOLA, stop by this restuarant, and you will not be dissapointed (as long as you try the ila asepo (they called it something else) and fufu). Give you my word. (I was not paid to say this either :))

I'm African and usually critical of African restaurants but I must say that the food was truly nice and quite original/Authentic...it wasn't "Americanized". I would recommend it to all trying something new and those hoping to get a "taste of home"
