| About: | A bakery by default is Parkway's claim to fame, and that is not all that New Orleanites will tell you. The owner, Jay Nix, did not want the Parkway bakery to stay just a fading memory in the customers' minds; hence this tavern was resurrected on Hagan Avenue. The museum-styled interiors only add to its charm. On the cards are roast beef, oyster fry and hot sausages, which are demanded incessantly. And for the saccharine tooth, Hubig's pies are in constant supply. |

Closed on Tuesday. A great place for po'boys. They're know for their Roast Beef Po'boys which are excellent! My favorite types of pb's are fried oyster and roast beef. On my last visit to Parkway I got the best of both worlds, a fried oyster with roast beef gravy. The have a fried shrimp w/ rb gravy called "the surf and turf" so it's not as strange as it sounds.
Fast, friendly service and great sandwiches!: I really like this place. It's casual and no-frills, and everyone is friendly. You order your food, they call you when it's ready. The po-boys are consistently great, and there's usually a rocking band on the weekend. Try the roast beef, but have plenty of napkins close by. It's ruined a shirt or two of mine!
