Try the Oceana instead. We have been back to the Alpine several times which is the sister restaurant of Oceana. Same menu and food. Something always seems to go wrong at the Alpine where we have never had a bad meal or service at Oceana. The last visit on 2/8/09 with a party of 9 led to a long confusion over who would serve us. Then there was a good 10 minute lapse in bringing us drinks. Then when the food did arrive, we had no silverware. I asked for silverware and the waitress ran off and 5 minutes later I went in search of her. She was having a conversatin with a customer in the patio! Six of our meals were cold... We will stick with Oceana which is not that far of a walk.
OMG!!! This place is great. The BBQ shrimp is wonderful (yea i know BBQ shrimp sounds wierd but it's not actul BBq sauce.) I will definitly be eating here again when I returm to new orleans.
What a find!: I found this place by accident wandering about the quarter.
The food was OUTSTANDING! They feed you well, and for a low price, I make it a point to have lunch there just about every day I'm in New Orleans.
