User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsIn the St. Mary Parish area, Tampicoâs is great for a large crowd. But if you're going for great taste, there is another smaller Mexican Restaurant in MC that, in my opinion, tastes much better.
Food quality is better in Morgan City than Bayou Vista, in my opinion also. Service is mediocre though and wait times vary every visit.
Iâve just had worse overall experiences in Bayou Vista (bad service, higher prices (which make absolutely no sense), and VERY greasy food.) I avoid dining in Bayou Vista.
If you are dining out, be prepared for a long wait on food. Almost every time I order to go, I'm stuck waiting an extra 20 minutes on the food after estimated time. One time, it was almost an hour after promised time.
Iâm regular to the Morgan City Tampicoâs for two reasons, the salsa and margaritas. The taste and consistency of the salsa has declined in the past few years to a much more tomato-y taste, but itâs still my absolute favorite! And ask for a pint to goâ¦mmmmâ¦.!!
As for food recommendations, I recommend Chicken Nachos, Super Nachos, Chicken Quesadillas, and the Loaded Burrito! Canât go wrong!
Even with the quirks, I still recommend the restaurant and take out of town guest for dinner.
It's the main local resturant.
KEEP IN MIND, the food is Americanized Mexican dishes.
User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsKIND OF DISAPPOINTED LAST WEEKEND, CRYSTAL WAS THE BEST THEY HAD NOW THAT SHE IS GONE I THINK WE DO NOT HAVE TO COME TO THE CITY AND CAN STAY IN N.I. SHE WAS THE REASON FR SUCH A LONG DRIVE JUST TO EAT THERE FOOD IS AWESOME AND THE BEST MARGAITAS ARE AT TAMPICOS

You start with complementary chips and salsa which are great! I keep coming back for the steak quesadillas. It's impossible not to like those. I always have a great time there, great atmosphere, and a great family restaurant or fun place to eat with friends!
