I was in New Orleans for the ASHA Convention 2009 and my group had reservations for 6:30pm. The restuarant looks amazings and the waiters/staff were beyond wonderful. Our drinks were always full! The only downfall was that everything was over-priced. I ordered a salad and a red velvet cake dessert. The salad was priced at $9 so I was excpecting a decent salad....nothing more than a small handful of baby spinach and the dressing was dreadful. After the salad I was hoping the dessert would lift my spirits. The red velvet cake ($8) was nothing more than a small round red cake (way smaller than my fist) with 2 teaspoon servings of icecream. No icing which is what usually "makes" red velvet cake!
The service was GREAT....the food was disappointing!
We were excited about dining there and they exceeded all expectations. Let's say right up front that we were treated like royalty by all employees. All waiters were extremely helpful and the maitre'd asked us many times if we were okay. We both ordered the $19.50 lunch which was 3 courses. Root beer bacon salad followed by short rib. She had creme breulee and I had lemon tart. All food was superb only trumped by the service and the way we were treated. This was certainly one of the most memorable meals we have ever had and if ever in New Orleans we will return.
Our reservation was at 6:15pm and we did not get our main meal after 2 hours of being there. We complained and the managers did not offer to rectify the issue until we all got up and said we will pay for the drinks/appetizers and then they offerred to do something but it was too late because we had 2 small kids with us that was so hungry and tired by that time we cannot wait any longer. We were very disappointed in how they treated us and will never return to the restaurant unless they can do something that would persuade us to give them another shot. We drove all the way from Dallas to try that restaurant and were not pleased with how we were treated.
