I honestly don't know why some people are trying to bash Tope La's image...must be employees from their competition. The service and management are always consistantly great. They have just gone through some major remodeling and upgrades so the atmosphere couldn't be better. The food is ALWAYS consistantly delicious and over portioned for a fair price. In my opinion it is the best restaurant with a wide variety of food for this area. That being said, sometimes the service and food could be a little faster...but I realize that Tope La' is fine dining and NOT a fast food restaurant, and they are usually packed full of patrons. Hmmm..they must be doing something right!!! Well worth a visit and recommending to your friends and family.
Big eats in a small town. The atmosphere of Tope Laâ is simplistic elegance. The lighting makes it easy to create a romantic atmosphere or a social outing with coworkers. I was happily surprised at the extent of the wine list; it contained more than just the perfect pairing for each dish.
This was my first time at the restaurant and I could not make up my mind of what to eat. I asked the wait staff for assistance in choosing the courses; I was delighted with the outcome. The Shrimp âCheesecakeâ with bagel crisps was a fashionable and delicious way to present a cheese spread. If you order it, I would suggest waiting a few minutes after it comes to the table so it can temper, making it creamier. Main course: Tilapia Evangeline which is sautéed tilapia with etouffee at a sauce, both very good. The large portion of mashed potatoes, though delicious, was extensive. I finished my meal with White Chocolate French Bread Pudding, a true treat. It was topped with a bananas foster sauce that was a bit boozy probably due to not being flamed as standard bananas foster dishes are, but I wouldnât hesitate ordering it again.
The staff was attentive without forcing the second and third course to arrive too fast. Frequently, when dining alone, I donât have the chance to finish each course at a leisurely pace and the following course sits on the table getting cold. Here, I set the pace and the waiter followed.
A tip: the portions are significant; if you want to try a few things go on Tuesday when they offer the lunch menu all day. The prices are less and the salad isnât included so you can try an appetizer or dessert or both.
One of the best...........food good ......service good....prices are ok. Been back seversl times. So far ok...
