If you love authentic sushi, Little Tokyo will not be your choice unless you are quite desperate. My friend and I were hungry when we first arrived, so of course we ordered an appetizer (squid steak) and lots of sushi rolls. First, a wrong appetizer was served. Instead of hot grilled squid, a cold pickled squid salad was sent to our table. 5 minutes later, the waiter notified us the mistake and made it right. The complimentary soup was strange. As for the main dishes, the sushi rolls were so messy that I doubt the chef was trained professionally. Rice was everywhere and the shape of sushi was not acceptable. They tasted just OK and nothing exciting. It was a waste of time to drive over the lake from New Orleans and have lousy sushi. One tip about having exotic food is to look around after you are in the restaurant. If you see most of the crowd are from the country where that cuisine is located at, you pick the right place.
Best Sushi on the northshore! I have been to all the new sushi places in the area and Little Tokyo is the best still hands down.
Little Tokyo may be one of the best kept secrets on the northshore. This place has the best sushi anywhere hands down. You can please the whole family here, even if they aren't big on Sushi. The service is outstanding and the food is even better. In my opinion there best Non-sushi dish is the baked Seafood. However its a close tie with the sushi, its always fresh, and consistantly perfect. Another 10 star place....Happy Eating
