User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsIn the seedy part of town but you must go there and try the fajita nachos. The only other place that makes them better is in Little Rock AR and that's a long drive so give this one a try you won't be disappointed. Have not tried other things on the menu.

DONT GO THERE....nasty ass food .....understaff ONLY 14 PPL OR LESS WORK THERE... under pay...workers have to work 9am till 10 pm wit a 2 hour break or less making $430.00 ever two weeks THEY HAVE TO WORK LIKE SLAVES FOR CUMP CHANGE...creepy boss who jus sit at the bar and drink and flirt with all the ladies....staff cant speak english.....ghetto hood restaurant,,, NEVER GOOD THERE DONT GIVE THEM YOUR TIME OR MONEY,,THEY NEEDA CLOSE DOWN SO THE WORKERS CAN BE FREE FROM THAT CREEP BOSS OF THERE.. AND THEY DONT ID UNDER AGE DRINKERS...

We have tried EVERY "so called" Mexican restaurant in the Lafayette area, El Portillo's BEATS all of them by a landslide. They are not run by Arabs, they are true and authentic.
They serve delious food, and promt service, we have always been satisfied with our visits and we visit often. Kudos to El Portillo for knowing and serving TRUE MEXICAN FOOD in Louisiana!!! We love your FOOD!
