omg! are you kidding me this place is a disaster!!!! first of all its supposed to be a 5 star hahaha restaurant. which is decorated entirely too tacky...like a cheap interior designer copied a doll house! 2nd of all i know a guy that works in the kitchen and i found out FOR A FACT, TALAPIA IS WHAT THEY SERVE ANY AND EVERYTIME YOU ORDER "THE RED SNAPPER OXBOW" OR WHEN YOU ORDER "STUFFED DRUM"!!!!!! can you believe what they charge for freaking talapia!!!! the management is very poor. fighting happens in the kitchen all the time. when i am forced to dine there with either my husband or business i always hear the owner yelling, screaming and cussing in the kitchen. the management has yelled and cursed at staff and our server told us that he has been there for awhile and that the constant fighting is just the norm! how tacky is that? the portions are small the prices are high and there is always drama there! my waiter also apologized to me when i ordered a grey goose martini that burned my throat so bad i had to order another, he informed me that ALL THE VODKA IS ARISTOCAT!@!!!!!!! AND I JUST PAID 7 BUCKS FOR A SHOT OF THE CHEAPEAST VODKA U CAN BUY!!!! I hate this place and wish it would completely shut down! if you want to eat out at a nice place go to baton rouge!!!! its worth it and they dont even have bread , crackers, or steak sauce ! i am fed up with this place!

Great ambience and terrific food so long as you go on a night when they don't cram everyone dining into the bar. We went on a Weds. night and loved it when we walked in. Menu selections featured too many good things to choose from. Unfortunately, a group of local men came in to watch the 2nd Presidential debate (why a group of 6 guys would choose a fancy blue and white restaurant to watch a political debate is beyond me). They grabbed tables and slammed them together in front of us (knocking our table and chairs and not waiting for the waitstaff to assist), ordered the staff to turn on the big screen TV and then turn it up, then had the audacity to look at my wife and I who were talking in normal tones as if we were interrupting them! And the management did nothing about it. So, if you're OK with paying big fancy restaurant prices to eat good food in a cramped sportsbar atmosphere, by all means go to the Oxbow during the week. Otherwise, steer clear until the weekend when they don't mind actually letting you eat in their beautiful dining room. That group of 6 men acted with such authority, it was as if one of them were the owner or maybe the mayor of St. Francisville. Whoever they were, the management was not about to tell them "no". Maybe next time they'll recommend they go down to the local sportsbar or the wing joint. Or, better yet, how about buying yourselves a nice bigscreen TV and staying at home with your beer guzzling buddies while your tourists are allowed to enjoy a peaceful dinner.
