We were looking for a Christmas treat, a dinner outside the house so Momma didn't have to cook a huge meal just days before the holiday cooking began. We found that and a new family favorite.
I couldn't decide between catfish or shrimp and our waitress suggested the all you can eat combo of both. I'm fairly picky about how my catfish is cooked, but I am willing to give new places I try. I'm glad I did.
The shrimp were excellent, but the catfish was perfect! Crispy, not crunchy on the outside, steamy and moist on the inside. It was very reasonable $11.99 also. Even my husband who is a huge eater was satisfied by the first plate sent to the table, but we ordered an additional just because it was so good!! We're not cocktail sauce eaters, but the tartar sauce was great! Tangy and perfectly seasoned.
The staff was great. The fresh made tea was amazing. Our two year old had chicken strips and enjoyed the local art on the walls, pointing out crabs and onions as well as roosters and houses. The tables are covered with paper and we passed teh very short time waiting on our food by doodling with the little one.
It is a place you can meet for business and have a nice meal with drinks and appetizers, or come as we did in jeans and t's and enjoy some time together.
We've already planned our next dinners out when friends call.. we'll be at LaGrange's! -
