I am not a coffee drinker, so this is not one of my favorites. I sometimes go for lunch, but they do not have a wide variety of menu choices. I have usually get a panini and soup (Broccoli and cheese is very good). I can not recommend the chicken salad, as I thought it was awful. Honesty, I do not go this restaurant for the food...I go because it is one of the few places in town that offer wireless internet access. However, their internet has been down for the past two months, so I have avoided the restaurant.
I went to Coffee Cupboard & Closet today with my friend and her little boy. Being from the Chicagoland area has definately spoiled my opinion on restaurants in the Leesville/Deridder areas but I was pleasantly surprised by the food here. I ordered the RB combo. This was a Roast Beef Panini with red onion, tomato and a sauce similar to Thousand Island dressing. The sandwich was accompanied by a bowl of potato soup with a garnishment of cheddar cheese and bacon. When ordering either the combo or plate a dessert is included. A peach cobbler came with our meals and it was scrumptious. Everything was very delicious! The atmosphere was nice but you are not going to receive too much privacy so you may have to watch your P's and Q's. I also just found out that they serve breakfast as well. I'm looking forward to trying something appetizing unlike some of the places I have been to like BJ's Diner where you have to peel the menu apart to order....one word...Digusting! I don't think that would be an issue at CC&C. Their coffee and tea looks delicious too!
Well of course it's "the best coffee in town" cause it's the ONLY coffee in town. Sorry, I'm just a bitter Chicago transplant who misses her Starbucks & Caribous on every corner. But-sigh- this place will do. The mochas are fabulous I will say, and they do have an impressive syrup list to choose from. Still the small mocha's are made from powdered cappaccinno mix, not espresso. However, for the Fort Polk transplants who yearn for their coffeehouse fix, this is worthy of the 25 min drive out there to DeRidder. Just a note though: if you're looking for anything Decaf, they usually don't have it on hand.
