D'Jon's Unisex Salon

I visited D'Jon's two weeks ago for a relaxer, trim, and roller wrap. My overall experience was horrible and I would not recommend this place to anyone, ie, Deedra one of the stylists. My appointment time was for 9am; I arrived promptly but was not seen until 11:30am. The beautician worked on everyone's hair that was there which wasn't a problem but if she knew that she had so many people to service prior to me, then my appointment time should have been bumped back by at least two hours. To top it off she I requested a relaxer for sensitve scalps which she obliged for $10 extra, which is a rip off in and of itself. The horrific part of this is that although she used the mild relaxer, she proceeded to comb it through, which is something that you should never do with hair that has been previously relaxed. I've had natrual hair and I don't recall my beautician combing it through. So of course I had scalp burns. In addition, I requested a trim and received a full blown hair cut. I was allowing my hair to grow out and now I have a bob, not at all what I wanted. Also my daughter was hungry during the wait so I purchased a hot dog, dressed with only mustard, a very small bag of chips, and a couple of 12oz sodas. When I asked how much it would be the owner states that it is $5.00. What?! I could not believe it the hot dog had to have costed $3.50 which is absurd. The cost of my hair was $75 so the $80 I had withdrawn from the bank was completely gone. The hair style looked descent but if you're looking for someone who knows how to take care of hair this is not the place. I will never step foot inside this place again. Like I said the overall experience was horrible and extremely overpriced. In addition, Deedra had complained about the prices of my beautician but that same service would cost $15 less at my regular beauty shop. I hope this review is helpful for those considering making the trip, but I cannot speak for the other beauticians there, they could be wonderful but my stylist and experience was horrible.

THE BEST PLACE!: I went to DJon's on the most stressful day of my junior year. . . my prom day. My hairdresser was too busy to see me, and referred me to Deedra. Imagine the horror when I imagined how terrifying it would be to go to a completely new hairstylist just hours before one of the biggest nights of my life. Not only did Deedra have me out of the salon in just 2 hours, but my hair was beautiful. She even gave me tips on how to keep it from falling before my big night began. I got a steady stream of compliments that night and I have been coming back every other Saturday ever since then.

I love it: After many years of searching for someone who will take the time to get to know me and my hair, I finally found my place. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and the girl who did my hair Deedra was great! She does my exactly the way I want it to. I get compliments everytime I go to her so check them out!
