Best King cakes and great service: My younger sister told me not to go anywhere else for King Cakes in Baton Rouge, but Jay's. I listened to her advice and was not disappointed. The strawberry cream cheese was delicious, and I will always get my King Cakes from Jay's from now on. You'll find friendly service and great products at Jay's.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsBest Donuts and King Cakes Around!!!: Everything Jay's makes is fantastic but I especially like the whole-wheat donuts with sugar-free glaze. They actually taste very good and I prefer them to regular donuts. The king cakes are so tasty...my favorite I get at least one of every year is the Banana Fosters flavor. It is made filled with slices of real bananas and tiny pieces of pecan in a rum-tasting banana pudding. I love to serve it to family and friends and I have had many people tell me it's the best they ever had!
The service and atmosphere at Jay's is friendly and familiar. Everyone is treated with respect and a smile. There are only a few tables to sit at but in the mornings you can find a few people hanging out, usually drinking coffee with the owner. The business is run by a family and that sense of family comes through in the way that repeat customers are treated like extended family members.
Highly recommended!!!
