I had been driving Sunday (Jan 18) for over 12 hrs back to Baton Rouge from Orlando..I drive a Ford F150 XLT truck and stopped at 2 Exxon stations on the way to Orlando on Jan. 10 and stopped at 2 Exxons coming home on Jan. 18 (never a problem with my card)..I always stop at Exxon for my gas..(my sister's husbands family are Exxon distributors)..I'll use Chevron if there are no Exxons..I stopped at the On The Run on Essen between 7:30 & 8:00 Sunday night..swiped my card at the pump and it would not except the card..The screen said to See Attendant..I went into the store and told the employee there was a problem with the pump.. I thought he'd cut my pump on but said he needed to know how much I needed and wanted cash..I told him I really didn't know, I just wanted to fill it up..He was rude so I walked out to another pump to see if my card would work in it. It didn't work so I got the other person with me to go in and take care of it with a cash deposit..The truck took close to $26 because I still had nearly half a tank..she and the asst. manager had a serious argument..he called her every name in the book..The pumps were the problem not my card..she said he proceeded to tell her the card was no good and he wouldn't cut the pumps on until she paid something..she gave him $40..she asked him to just cut the pump on so she wouldn't have to go through refunding her money back and then putting it on the card..he said the card wouldn't work..she told him there was no way that card would not work if he scanned it..well it did work and she had to waste time on the cash refund & then put the gas on the card..just a total A%#H*%#*..I have used this station hundreds of times..NEVER do I pay cash..ALWAYS on my card..I've gone in and bought sunflower seeds though..The employees were rude then..Exxon could pull all my bills for the past 3 yrs. + and see just how much money I've spent on Exxon gas..Hundreds upon hundreds upon hundreds at this station alone..Not counting all the others..I worked Road Home for over a year (plus every hurricane the past 3 yrs)inspecting homes all over south La ..Every day I'd stop at this station to fill up before heading out to work..all their employees are extremely rude..Rodrick was the asst. manager that was working that night..I will buy from another area or maybe start using Chevron before I'll use this station again..they need to clean house there..They're the bottom of the barrel for employees.
Poor Service, Arrogant Employees: I went in to this facility today around 7:45am before going to work and after the person ahead of me was waited on, entertained with idle conversation, the clerk turned her back to me and believe me I was very visible to her. After waiting I said "Excuse me but can I get this item checked out". Her reply was "You have to come to the other register to get scanned" Now, she could have told me that on the front end in a nicer tone of voice also. I was very agitated and should have walked out because this happens at this location time and again. I live in the area so I had frequented this location freely until now. I do not feel that the treatment of turning her back on me to talk to another employee was anything but intentional for whatever reason she had.
