Dr. Cameron's is not a place I would recommend taking your pet for any reason. They're lazy, rude, and the prices are outragous. We had taken our 1 year old there because he was sick. Dr. Cameron looked at him and said it was just stress. If he actually knew what he was talking about, he would know that stress could only affect a dog that much (vomitting, shaking a lot, not eating or drinking) if they are old. We asked for a blood test but he acted as we were being over-worried and stupid. He prescribed some antibiotic and told us to call him the next day if it got worse. We did. He didn't call back.

We got tired of waiting and took him to another place. We were outamaticly impressed. When we brought him in, they were kind and gentle with him. They immediatly took a blood test after we explained what had happened (including our experience with Dr. Cameron.) They saw how much trouble we had gone through ($200 on some antibiotics after rude service and an aweful checkup.) While we waited for the results, they used an ultrasound to check on him. They saw something wrong, but couldn't tell what it was, because it was displaced. The blood test came out and we discovered he had kidney troubles. One was much too large and the other too small. If we had waited two more days with Dr. Cameron not doing anything, Our dog would be dead. All he had to do was take a blood sample and we would immediatly see that something WAS wrong. They decided on exploritory surgery to see what's wrong. They have him hooked up on IV and are taking good care of him.

We got home and Dr. Cameron called. He chewed US out for taking our dog somewhere else. He tried to support himself with questionable knowledge. For instance, he said that they should let him urinate to see if it really is kidney troubles. Urinate what?! We had already explained that he didn't eat or drink anything in at least 2 days. Besides, something is wrong with the kidneys if one is that big.

We are NEVER doing business with Dr. Cameron again. He is lazy and doesn't really care for animals. His prices are too expensive for such awful service. He only likes it for the money. Our dog almost died because he was to lazy too do a simple bloodtest. I don't even think he knows what he's doing half of the time.

Dr. Cameron is the best vet in the state of Louisiana. His knowledge, expertise, and caring attitude far surpass any vet in this parish. We have entrusted our animals to his care for many years. His wife, Sharon, his receptionist, is very friendly and organized. She makes you feel welcome and assists you with all your pet needs. We love Dr. C!!!!

pretty cold: They were very cold and didn't show my pet the attention it deserved.
