I asked around as to a resturaunt that had the best local flavor and the Blind Tiger was recommended. It was downtown, not my favorite area but we decided to give it a try. My brother was visiting from out of town and a retired resturaunt manager was impressed with the service and the quality of the food. Definitely a place that I will be going back to visit.
This was without a doubt the worst dining experience I have ever had. The restaurant was FREEZING cold. The queso I ordered tasted like velvetta that had sat in a warmer all day. The hamburger I ordered was supposed to be blackened, but medium-rare. It was BURNT. I've never bitten into anything so tough and tasteless, except for the terrible blackening seasoning, which only compounded the horrific taste. The waitress was clueless and didn't even notice that I only took one bite of the hamburger or the queso. Needless to say, she never offered to amend the situation, just brought me the bill, which I paid just to get out of the place.
We stopped there on our way from Texas to Georgia in March, 2009. The atmosphere was ok and the server was nice but I wasn't crazy about the food. My sister and I ordered the red snapper but we know they gave us something else...mostly tasteless with a hint of catfish. Neither of us could eat it but were in a hurry to get back on the road so just left it. I wouldn't go there again.
