It might be because of the recession but they practically give the hotel rooms away if you do a fair amount of playing in their casino. I've stayed there 3 or 4 times in the past year and have enjoyed it every time. The refrigerator didn't work when I arrived one time but they brought a new one up very quickly.
This is also a great place for a family outing. Unlike the Horseshoe (and I don't know about the other casino hotels), they have a swimming pool complete with supplied towels and a bar with food and drinks. The pool stays open until 8 (longer if security doesn't show up right away to close it). There is also some public fountains within walking distance (other side of El Dorado) for kids (or adults if that's your thing) to play in.
Twice this summer I was invited to a slot tournament and combine with other coupons ST gave me, I had the rooms, food and some gaming paid for. I basically paid for the gas there, a few meals and gambling money and my family of four had a great time!
we were in the casino is last week of july and had a wonderful time the slots were very kind to us on our two day stay can't wait to return the wait staff a little slow and not interested in the in the people. on the week ends it is a little somkey
Not sure about the last review wriiten but, my wife and I had a great experience at Sam's Town. At arrival, we were upgraded to the Magnolia Suite without even asking by a very personable check-in clerk named Latoya. Friendly Bell service. Room was large, clean and simply fantastic. Diffinitely will be coming back here. Can't go wrong here!
