we had a problem with champion ford yrs ago. they didnt want to deal with us unless we had cash. we left and went straight to wrayford and walked out owning a new truck. In 2008 i went shopping for a car for my daughter. i started out with one guy at rountree and he put me off on a man that didnt know anything about what me and the other guy had talked about and the amount or anything he got pissy and i told him i would be back and left and went straight to wrayford and saw Eddy Harris over there. Eddy treated me like family and that was an awesome experience.Yet again im looking to buy a vechicle and i stopped by the used carlot and and asked about a truck and asked what the lowest amount he would go down to and he told me that he was nt going to talk numbers until i drove the truck. needless to say im looking at f150 s everywhere even in texas ark and south la. cause if you cant treat me right then you damn sure dont need my business
I have a whole other issue with this dealership! Their Service Department is in serious need of an overhaul. I work in Shreveport on business and my truck is my office. I have called them on 3 different occasions at different times of the year to schedule some maintenance or have a problem looked at. The response I get is you will have to leave it with us for 2-3 days before we can look at it. Are you kidding me??? Who can afford to leave their vehicle for 2-3 days just to get it LOOKED at? Especially a work truck. That is ridiculous. The respose today: "I have 10 in front of you brother what am I suppose to do"? I am not your brother... last I checked I was a customer trying to obtain a service. I tried to make an appointment so I could be front of the line on some other day or week. Response: Doesn't work that way my friend, it is a first come first serve here. WHAT?? This dealerships Service Dept is at best a 2 on a scale of 1-10.
Visited Rountree Ford to look at a F-150. I was just checking into the truck and wanted to know what they would give for the one I liked. The salesperson was nice at first even though she didn’t know what rebates were available on the truck (you are a salesperson, you are supposed to know these things!). Drove the truck and liked everything about it so we checked on the price of it with my car which we were considering for trade-in. So she took the keys to my car and looked at it. She came back with the total price of everything with trade-in and it wasn’t a bad deal but we know to never take the first offer. We had other things to do so we told the salesperson to see what numbers they could come up with and give us a call. The salesperson refused and said she did not want to play phone tag. I’m sorry but that is part of your job if you really want to make the sale. After that, we asked for the keys to our car back three times so we could leave. Each time we were refused the keys to OUR car. We were basically being held hostage in the dealership by this salesperson! We had to threaten calling the police to get our keys at which point she got pissed off and stormed back to the sales office mumbling something and came back and slammed my keys on the table without saying a word. Is this what you call customer service? We were considering the truck and may have actually bought it but definitely not now. I will not return to Rountree Ford ever again if this is the way they treat people. This was extremely disrespectful, unprofessional, and uncalled for as we never got out of line with her until she refused to give us our keys. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you are in the market for a new Ford vehicle unless you appreciate being treated in such unprofessional manners.

Today October 9th, 2009, we received a letter from Rountree Ford’s “legal counsel” demanding we remove this and other reviews we have posted on the internet. They are threatening to take legal actions if these reviews are not removed. Rountree Ford once again claims these are false accusations but we once again stand by the true experience we had at Rountree Ford as told in the above review. Here you see Rountree Ford’s excellent customer service at work again. Do you really want to buy a vehicle from a dealership that tries to strong arm consumers with threatens of legal action if you post a review on the internet? If Rountree Ford feels this is also 99% inaccurate, we will gladly scan the letter sent to us and post it in this review.
Apparently this review ruffled a lot of feathers at old Rountree! We received a call on Friday Oct 4th from a lady concerning this matter. She quickly pointed out that they knew this review was posted on several websites and promptly requested we remove all of them. This came before she even discussed this situation. Again, this shows the unprofessionalism of Rountree as they are merely trying to save face instead of being concerned about the customer. The reviews will NOT be removed as they are legitimate and I feel it is the public’s right to be aware of such issues. This is the age of the internet where customer service slips like this are readily and easily available to the public via websites such as this. Before, these incidents could be swept under the rug (which was apparently the intent of the phone call). Not to mention, there was no way I was going to remove the reviews after the comment this particular review received from someone only called “D” from Rountree.
I don’t know if there is a problem with Yahoo but I cannot view this comment on this website (maybe it was deleted). But I did receive an email with the comment when it was made. In its entirety, the comment left was:
"This is a rebuttal to the review from Sat, September 26th. I have looked into this particular situation and 99% of the complaint stated is inaccurate. This man and his "friend" were very difficult to deal with from early on in the visit. Their salesperson is a very pleasant woman with high customer satisfaction index scores. She has been with Rountree for almost two years. The police were not called in this situation and keys were not held hostage by anyone at the dealership. We pride ourselves in professionalism and treating people in a friendly manner. Please feel free to stop by any time to visit our courteous and knowledgeable staff."
I can assure you that my review is 100% correct and factual. And to further discredit this mysterious “D”, let’s take a look at the first 242 characters (out of 995 characters within the 1000 character limit) from my review:
“Visited Rountree Ford to look at a F-150. We were just checking into the truck and wanted to know what they would give for the one I liked. The salesperson was nice at first even though she didn’t know what rebates were available on the truck”
1. I did visit Rountree Ford (or else they never would have called or even had my number to call).
2. I did look at (and drive) a F-150.
3. I did want to know what they were willing to sell the truck for.
4. The salesperson was friendly and nice up to the phone tag/keys incident.
5. She really didn’t know the rebates on the truck.
Do your math on simply that portion of the review and you have 24.32% thusfar that is completely true and accurate much more than the 1% of truth Mr. “D” gave me. Mr. “D” clearly did not “look into this particular situation” closely enough. You be the judge on who to believe for the remainder.
And furthermore please, Mr. “D”, divulge to the viewing public what exactly you meant by “friend”. You seem to be implying that we are homosexuals. Do you also have a problem selling vehicles to homosexuals? It appears you do.
Again, my “friend” and I were not difficult to deal with at all during our visit. The salesperson came up to us on the lot while we were looking at the trucks and we struck up conversion about the truck and the recent Cash for Clunkers program before we proceeded to drive the truck. We were very nice as was she until she lost her cool with the keys. We were not trying to start trouble or cause any problems. We simply stopped in to look at a truck and check on the price. We were never intending on buying that day and we had clearly stated this. We were going to check on the truck and do further research on it. We had other important things to do that Saturday and were already running behind. We were simply needing to leave but we were still interested in the truck.
To clear any confusion here, I never said the police were called. I plainly stated in the review above we only had to threaten calling the police to get our keys after being denied them 3 times. I never said we actually did so.
I do not understand how Mr. “D” can say we or our keys were not held hostage. We were DENIED our keys 3 times. We had both only come to the dealership in this particular car and had no other way to leave except to get our keys and leave in said car. Hostage by definition is “a person held by one party in a conflict as security that specified terms will be met by the opposing party.” We were requesting she call us back with a better price on the truck which clearly did not fit into her cookie-cutter sales training and as such she was holding us hostage in the dealership by denying us the keys to our car. No matter how you look at this situation, it fits squarely into the definition of hostage.
You can now see the professionalism upon which Rountree prides themselves. You can be the judge of the entire situation but I will never step foot on the Rountree Ford lot again. I recommend that everyone else do the same thing.
