A local legend. Fresh-shucked oysters, waiters in white jackets, I would say New Orleans or South Louisiana-style. Has not changed one iota since I first ate there in the mid-1970s. Oyster basket is my favorite. You think you might see Tony Soprano come in, it has that sort of atmosphere.
Eaten there beginning in 1965, has not changed, still the best oysters and cold beer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great Food: "My family always went at least once or twice a week when I was a little girl.
I still get the same waiter (John) after all these years. The food is always
the freshest & tastiest around town. (especially the fried shrimp & shrimp delight!). Steaks are great, too. We now have one in West Monroe, but the ambiance is not as unusual as the original one, which is still open in Monroe. What a wonderful family owned business this is! (Still thriving after ? years???) " I agree with them. The place is great. They have great food, but the West Monroe location doesn't seem to have the same great and unusual atmosphere as the Monroe location. There needs to be more going on in the West Monroe location.
