I know this looks ridiculous in comparison to the other reviews, but all of my experiences at the cottage have been the same. The food is pretty good, but the service is HORRIBLE. Maybe its because I am not a lawyer or doctor, but every time that I go to eat there, I always get stuck with one of two of the older waitresses and they practically ignore my table.
One time, the waitress came and took our drink order, and we waited for 30 minutes and she never came back. We saw her several times conversing with the other waitress and both of them stared straight at our table and still they never came. So we got up and went to leave and told her "thanks anyways" and she then told us that our food (which we never ordered) was on the way. Haven't been back there since.
Heres my deal. Its not this one experience that left a bad taste in my mouth, that was just the culmination. I can't recommend this restaurant to anybody because the only way you will get good service is if you become one of their "regulars." Otherwise, you'll most likely be treated as a first time guest at a church; stared at and whispered about and given an obviously fake greeting.
Wendy's is right down the street, and their service is exceptional in comparison. -

Demi of the Shrimp soup is a must with any meal: With a wedge of sweet cornbread it ca't be beat. But get there early. It sometimes sells out fast!
Love the grilled chicken platter w/ cottage potatoes, Avocoado and Shrimp Salad, Shrimp Remoulade, Spinach salad, Stuffed burgers... Actually I have enjoyed everything I have tried there.
