This probably should be on Diners, Drive-In's and Dives, it is a Dive but fantastic food. We are from Texas and go to West Monroe almost every year for the National Boer Goat Show, we eat here almost every meal and sometimes twice a day! It is wonderful and do not miss the Bread Pudding, it is to die for! Along with the Crab Cakes!!!
NO NO NO NO
The service was poor. I ordered the Seafood Bisque. I'm cajun.
That was not a Bisque. It was more like an etouffe made with too much flour. Food was over salted and too greasy.
A hidden gem in the middle of Monroe. This hole-in-the-wall (and I use that as a true term of endearment) is one of those places you might never stop if you just passed by. Trust me...stop in. The seafood gumbo was second-to-none, and the delicious blackened ribeye steak simply melts in your mouth. Side dishes were fresh and delicious, too. My waitress treated me like an old friend, even though I was just in town for business. They have a great outdoor deck that overlooks the river. Skip Chili's, Appleby's and all the other crappy chains, and discover great local food at Gabbeaux - Bayles Landing!
