It's has been great returning home after so many years, also sad to see the old school house gone and Mr.Burch store and gas station.
But just across the road is Tillar Store a great place to visit folks and have a relaxing delicious meal,I really look forward to my next visit.Thank you
The store was definately what I would define as a southern comfort arkansas eating "joint". The food and service was second to none. I never plan on eating at a fast food restaurant again. I had the bacon burger and "tots" and they were both amazing. My two little boys loved it and thought it was so "cool" inside the store. I'm not real sure what that meant but the girl working there was very friendly. The older gentleman was also very nice and they seemed to geniunely care about us. At first I was going to give the review a four star, however, I believe friendly people and great food deserve better. I definately plan on stopping by the little town next time I'm driving through. Good luck Tillar Store.
Also, younger guys, take your girlfriends there to impress them. It may not be the Ritz Carlton Hotel but they'll love the little town and the experience too. It's also not very expensive at all for how much food you get. I believe my burger was around $5.00 and that's with some tasty "tots" too.
Wow, if you're looking for good southern cooking and a great southern dining experience, the Tillar Store is the place for you.
Two weeks ago, I was driving to Florida for vacation and decided to stop in one of the smaller towns along the way to have a bite to eat. Since my uncle is from Pine Bluff, I asked him where I could stop close and grab a bite to eat. Well, I was just South of Dumas and he said he knew a guy (Ken Holt) that had a little store that also had food outside of Dumas. So, I decided to stop in and have a bite and meet this Ken Holt fellow too. Driving up to the store, I didn't know what was about to take place since the outside didn't totally resemble a store. However, when I got inside it was as country and southern of a place as it could get and the food was AMAZING!! I did not get to meet Mr. Holt because he was supposidly out working on the farm, however, my dining experience was great. If you're looking for fine dining this is NOT the place for you. But, if you're looking to stop off and have a quick sandwich, chicken tenders, burgers, fried shrimp, ect... then this is the place for you!! I'm very surprised its not more publicized but the experience was great, also if you have any needs for your travel then this store has it all as well. I will definately be back to this store again, and hopefully I will have a chance to tell Mr. Holt how I feel about the food.
oh and also, don't worry about asking for extra tater tots, the portions are more than filling and good a to go snack for later down the road!
