We have been to Zapata's several times. The atmosphere is good, the food is average, good for this area. The bean soup needs help. The salsa tastes canned, or at least partially. The bar staff knows how to work the crowd. We witnessed patrons being over served to the point of not being able to walk. The prices are high and not a great value. Our chips have been stale and rubbery with two different meals. The bean soup is a joke and without taste or seasoning the two times tried, anyone can boil water and throw the beans in. Good place for to meet with people, large tables and high ceilings made for good sound. Bathrooms were bright and stocked, cleaner than other restaurants in the Texarkana Arkansas and Texarkana Texas areas that we have visited. 4 stars only because the Yahoo Local will not allow for 3.5. Don't go expecting a super meal, just decent service.
