Great food and great service. Highly recommend! Stop by on our way from MO to LA.
My wife and I drove in from Oklahoma on April 21, 2009, and met with friends from Tennessee. We ate at Brown's that day and again on April 23. We had no complaints about the food, service or store appearance. Since the other reviews that have been posted, perhaps a major cleanup in food, the store and people's attitudes may have taken place. We rate it very highly, and would eat there again. I ate the meat loaf both times, as well as the macaroni and cheese, and the cheesecake.
Brown's Country Kitchen has been there for many years, unfortunately. If you plan to visit Brown's go early so that you don't get food that has been left too long on the buffet which causes the food to dry out and hard or greasy. To me, I'd rather stay home and cook the items that they serve. Meatloaf, fried chicken, fried catfish, vegetables and etc., are easy to fix at home and if you use EVOO to fry your food in...its lots better in flavor and healthier eating. Dirty restrooms and dishes, rude employees...theres no excuse for it. And last I was in there...it was pricey for what they serve...CRAP! When I go out to eat, I want to eat something that I don't normally cook at home. So, I don't frequent this place after the 1st round of unedibles that they serve.
