This food is good, but it is not great and it would help if the restaurant was a little cleaner looking than what it is. Don't get me wrong, I would definitely eat here, the meat loaf is great, it would just be better if there was a little remodling done and the place were spiced up a bit.
A Response To âNavyguy (& gal)â: We know who you are. We canât help but remember you. We witnessed your temper tantrum as you slammed down your serving tray when you noticed we were âout of basics like mashed potatoesâ at ten minutes before closing (1:50 p.m.), not during the âlunch hourâ as you claim. We donât serve instant potatoes, as you probably expected. We boil premium Idaho russets and take a little time to produce a quality product. As the lady tried to explain to you, we donât have a crystal ball. We prepare our food in anticipation of the amount of business we expect for that day. Ninety per cent of the time weâre right. But sometimes, depending on demand for a certain entrée or vegetable and/or volume of business, we run out. Weâre extremely sorry we didnât have mashed potatoes for you at that time on that day in June. But by the emotional response you displayed when told we were out you must like our food a lot, or youâve got a really short fuse and a naïve concept of the restaurant business. Frankly, we hope people like you never come back to our restaurant, and if you do, weâll ask you to leave. Oh, by the way, the lady you claimed was rude was voted one of the top servers in the metropolitan Little Rock area, and probably the reason she responded to your rudeness with rudeness was because you had been rude on your previous visit to Your Mamaâs.
Today they were out of basics like mashed potatoes during the lunch hour. The lady behind the counter was very rude when asked about it and got right in my face. She preceded to deliver a lecture about her 18 years of experience.
The food is good some days, but it is not worth rude service and certainly not worth putting up with attitude like this.
No more Your Mama's Good Food for me. I go to a place where manners still matter.

Navyguy- Obviously you've never worked in a restaurant, and you've never heard the saying "You Snooze, You Lose". It's hard for me to believe that the lady would get in your face for them being out of mashed potatoes, which leads me to believe that you must have said something to set her off. For every action there is a reaction. Think about what you say before you say it. They were recently voted "Best Home Cooking" in Arkansas. I eat at Your Mama's religiously and think its the best damn food I've ever eaten. They know my name and what I eat. I am greeted with a smile and I always have hot, fresh food. If they happen to be out of something, I'll try something else off the expansive menu, and I end up loving every bite. It's like I'm eating at MY Mama's house. 5 STARS! P.S. Obviously she's doing something right if she has 18 years of experience. You should've taken notes on how to run a business. Also, I wouldnt recommend you to go eat at a place where manners still matter because you will most likely be asked to leave.
