As a traveler, I've eaten at several gourmet and near gourmet restaurants from all over this fine globe. The 501 Club fall somewhere in between, but for the area of Jonesboro, it far surpasses the normal ambient dining experience. Whether you drink alcohol or not, if you fancy a quality filet mignon or perfectly-cooked salmon filet, then you should frequent this more up-scale establishment.
The jazz lounge next door is a great touch, especially when live performers are playing well. It takes me back to the Altstadt jazz bars of Germany & Austria where merriment, drinking, smoking, jazz, good friends and provocative conversation go hand in hand. However, the drinks are overpriced even by city standards.
The ambiance is fair, but I have eaten in far more ambient eateries. For one, this restaurant is simply too dark. They try to establish the mood of professionalism and trendy flare, but more light is essential to a better dining experience as well as more comfortable chairs and adequate table lighting.
Excellent food and drinks with a professional and friendly work staff make this a dining experience to remember!
The food was very good, and the atmosphere was wonderful. It is a little pricey for this area, but it's a great place to go for a good meal, conversation, and very pleasant evening.
