I've been to Shogun's in the past, but this was the first time I'd been to the Bentonville location. Our cook was pretty good as far as making us ooohh and ahhhh a few times but did not explain the sauces (and they were served cold!). It seemed like a couple of other tables were really having a much better time with their cooks as they were cheering, clapping, laughing loudly and repeatedly. Our waitress was not very friendly and did a poor job of keeping drinks refilled. The steaks are pretty small for what you pay but tasted great...the shrimps were the very small size (not too impressive), the scallops were thin. The ginger dressing was tasty, soup was very bland and tasteless, the rice was delicious, the sweet iced tea I ordered was very watered down and looked like lightly tinted water. When it came time for our checks....oh boy, the waitress just could not get the tickets right. From the time that she came to the table for the fist time with some of the tickets, it was a full 30 minutes before we departed (no exaggeration!), after telling her twice that we were charged incorrectly. We even asked to see a Manager but one never came to the table. There were 4 parties of people at our table, and all of them complained about this. Finally one of them just threw down a wad of cash and walked out...unfortunately the rest of us were at the servers mercy as we were using credit cards instead of cash. The unfortunate thing was that the server never apologized for this. The hostess said she was new, like that it supposed to make us feel better. I begrudingly left a 15% tip as I did not want to penalize the cook, but I don;t think we will be returning to this location again.
joane was the meanest most disrespectfull woman i have ever had serve me i will not return to shoguns the manager was just sitting around not doing anything to see if the customers were satisfied.
The food has always been good at this Shogun. From the tempura to the main sushi entre's. No mayo or suprise cream cheese sauces, everything is listed perfectly on the menu. A Cali roll like its supposed to be. I have never encountered any problems with the staff.
