We went for breakfast this past weekend. Party of 3. Cost us $37.00 with tip. Service was good. Food not memorable and somewhat tasteless. Just too expensive for breakfast.
We'll not likely go back for a while. Denny's is better value.
Plastic in food, umm. Well, that tells me that IHOP uses eggs in a bucket (dehydrated eggs)which I thought they did all along:) The only time you get a real egg is if you order it over easy, etc., and not in an omelet. Why would you NOT use eggs? Costs. Cut costs a little here, a little there, and thats how you get plastic in your food:)
Should you ever frequent a IHOP, look whos cooking as you walk through the doors. Give them a nice smile and eye contact. It does help. But if you want a real omelet with real eggs, go to your local favorite diner. If it looks too good to be true...it probably is, and IHOP's omelets always look perfect like the picture in the menu. Unfortunately, by using eggs in a bucket, the quality suffers, and you get a tastless yellow looking, fluffy, wrap for your veggies. I don't know what all is in the dehydrated eggs and I really don't want to know but I'd stay away from the things. Lesson learned...stay away from perfect looking, bright yellow, fluffy omelets. Send it back or change your order...don't eat it. God only knows whats in it!
On my first visit to this restaurant my wife found a piece of plastic in her scrambled eggs. We told our waitress and she went to get the manager. When he came to our table he asked what the problem was and when we told him he simply asked, "What do you want to do about it?" I told him that I wasn't paying for the meal because I couldn't eat any more of the food. That is the story of the last time I went to the Fort Smith IHOP. The waitress was nice, and the restaurant was clean. Although, there is no excuse for having plastic in food.
