Absolute worst- place of full of sad/ angry people waiting for food. Several groups got up and left, reporting that they had ordered an hour ago. We were more patient- after waitng 70 minutes, we asked of the kitchen staff, since our waitress was nowhere to be found. Kitchen help said porkchop and burger would be ready soon- great, except that was not what we had ordered. Who know how much longer we would have waited for our order???? We joined those others who left without eating.By the time we left, the place was nearly empty, and we felt sorry for people at table behind us, half of whom got their orders while other half of group did not, and for the couple who came in 20 minutes earlier and still had not received a menu. The problem was not lack of help- there were plenty of cooks in kitchen- problem was lack of help who had a working brain cell. Honestly, even in-bred halfwits should be able to cook a couple of burgers in 70 minutes...
I'm eaten here twice on my ride up to Mt Magazine. Both times I enjoyed a good Cheese Burger and fries. I'll admit the service was slow but I enjoyed visiting with my fellow riders. Shirley also hosted a bike show this fall and served some good BBQ.
GREAT RESTAURANT ESP. PASTRY: Ate here twice while at Mt Magazine for 3 days. Wonderful rustic feel. Interesting classic metal advertising signs on the knotty pine walls. Super pies and cobblers. 16 oz T-bone special for $15. Played Checkers on giant board they have on one table! Young waitresses offered excellent service.
