Pool of Bethesda Day Spa

My name is Emily and since the 5th grade i have always wanted celebrity looking hair! Box dye...won't work!! No matter how much you pay someone, they just can't seem to get it the way you want it. I came here not to long ago and simply asked for highlights, however after almost 3 hours my hair was still drab brown. I didn't have the heart to complain but after a couple of hours, i decided to come back. They told me that they would set me an apt the next day with Melissa, a color specialist here at the Pool of Bethesda. I cannot put into words what Melissa did to my hair!! She is a hair GOD. I had the most beautiful blond highlights anyone had ever seen! Not one piece was red, or that orange color...eghhh. So the next apt i had, i asked for Melissa again. This time i wanted a pretty fall color, i figured she would know what to do. She put big chunky pieces of chocolate brown, red wine colors and even some platinum blonds! It's Beautiful! I am the envy of many other college kids my age! I won't go anywhere else, or let anyone even touch my hair unless its Melissa! She will give you what you want guaranteed! She flies here from Florida and stays here for a week out of every month, so catch her quick! Call and set yourself an appointment ASAP! You will see your hair turn from drab to fab! I've been one of her clients for almost 4 years and i haven't been let down not once!! The place as a whole might not receive the best rating, but Melissa scores a perfect 10!! Thanks for listening and take my advice, Melissa is the best, no doubt about it.

My mom and I went to this spa for a mother daughter get away and I have to tell you that it was awesome, so relaxing and the ladies there were wonderful! they made us feel very comfortable. i recomend them to anyone! i will be visiting them again soon and many times to come... i couldn't ask for a better time or better people. thank you girls!! We loved it!

I have thought long and hard about what I would write in my review about this spa...after nearly a week, I think I can finally find the words for the anger and embarrassment I felt. Myself & two of my girlfriends made the 3 hour trip to pool of bethesda in ft. smith for a girls' day out type thing. Our hair lady, Christy, was great, she was SO sweet and patient. We all loved our hair! I was the only one getting a brazilian bikini wax. The owner was to do my waxing. I told her I had never had a brazilian before so I did not know what to expect. She comes in and pulls the blanket I had over myself off of me and tells me I cannot be modest. Which I laughed off, I was so nervous...being naked with this perfect stranger. She said she was comfortable with doing the waxing but she was clearly insecure and uncomfortable. First, she drops hot wax all over my leg and instead of apologizing she crudely tells me that is free wax for my leg. She does the first side very fast, without holding the skin taut or trying to soothe the skin after. I was clearly in pain, now mind you, I have a child(had him naturally), I have 4 tattoos...I am not one who can't take pain to an extent. She did a couple more rounds then wouldn't finish. She just squirted some oil on my bleeding skin and walked out leaving the door ajar. It was clear to me that she was pissed off that she had to do anything.(I did not see her have any other appts. all day & we were there all day) I could not believe was had just taken place. I walked out clearly shaken and upset. My friends noticed right away. I mentioned my problem to Christy(hair) and she recommend I tell her...she would want to know she says. So as I am getting ready to pay her for the worst service possible I mention that I am not happy with the waxing and she tells me she thinks I can't handle the waxing without anthisethic!(why didn't she have the anthestic on hand then, she knew i was coming in!?) I say ok and she says nothing more to say to me. The sad thing about this is she is the owner and there is no-one to report her to. The only thing I can do is let people know the way I was treated. I was bleeding, bruised with stray hairs everywhere! I could have done that much damage to myself!! She did not care one bit that I was embarrassed, uncomfortable, and clearly a dissatisfied customer! I felt so much anger over this, I felt SOOOOO violated! The only good thing that could come out of this experience is, I am about to go to esthetician school and I will NEVER ever treat ANYONE the way she treated me. Oh, and I also have my degree in business admin. and that was the most unprofessional, rude, insecure business owner I have ever come in contact with. Hopefully Christy goes somewhere else b/c I will never go back to this place again unless its to report her to the better business bureau. My friends and I make these trips and spend a lot of money in these places and just expect to be given the same respect we give. Guess she never heard the saying...customer is always right. This is not coming from an angry place anymore...just a warning to anyone thinking of using Pool of Bethesda's services. Annie, the receptionist was great as well...the owner better have people like annie and christy working for her because she won't get far on her personality alone! And for sure not her work ethic or professionalism! Sorry girls(christy & annie)!

I was there that day you guys were! Christy has done my hair she is very nice! Annie is so sweet! When you spend that kind of money you don't want the door left open while you're changing! You don't want your anethesist working on your face and walking in and out constantly and talking from room to room. Updates needed badly! It's like the owner wants to sit there and do nothing! You hear them talk about each other. I've been to my appointment and the other one is late, not me! I could say much more, but many people are and it will go down hill and be nothing left!
