User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsI don't think being defensive over a situation that you did not experience is necessary. I have been to OFF several times in the last five years; both at their original location and newer Phoenix Ave location. The first time I entered the Phoenix store I experienced the same as prettyprose. I was ignored, given the same look and was given a half-ass answer when the employee finally decided to speak to me. Upon completing the sale, the phone rang, for the third time since my entrance ten minutes earlier, and the employee grabs the phone, says, "YES?" and proceeds to treat the caller the same as me. I, however, returned to OFF a few weeks later, spoke to the manager and informed him of what happened. He ensured me the situation would be taken care of, and asked me to please give OFF another chance. I have since, but I will not forget the rudeness of that particular employee, and am very weary of entering OFF every time! I have been in customer service and food management for over 15 years and am aware the sometimes we bring our personal life to work. Maybe that's what happened with her, maybe that's just her personality... whatever the case, it has obviously continued and that is sad to hear. OFF should read these reviews, consider these issues and realize that people relocate to Fort Smith and expect to receive great customer service and embrace the community. Second time is not good OFF!!!

I strongly agree with Bella! I'm sorry prettyprose but it seems to me you were just searching for something to be offended at. I frequent Olde Fashioned Foods and it is one of my favorite stores in the Fort Smith area. I have always found the staff EXTREMELY helpful! They are very knowledgeable and can answer most all of my questions. And the ones they don't know the answer to they will always try to find out. (I once had one employee wait on hold for twenty minutes just so he could ask a representative from a company a question he couldn't answer.) I have also often seen them walking around the store asking customers if they could help them in any way. You can't judge an entire store on two employees who definitely would have helped you if you hadn't been stubborn and to sure of their snobbishness to even ask!
Besides their helpfulness i also love the store in general and strongly encourage you to give it another try! -

It's sad to see a poor service review on such an excellent business in our town, unfortunately it's very common in this area. The saddest part is, when asked about their products they are very knowledgeable about their products and helpful as well, they just need to be asked and that is considered poor service.

Excuse my addition, but I think it needs to be added to my post... I only use OFF when I am in desperate need of a product. I find it GREATLY worth the time to travel to Fayetteville and shop at Ozark Natural Foods! They are a COOP and offered me an ownership the first time I entered! Now THAT is customer service!!!!
