I was a student there as a young girl from 1991-93 and I loved it! When I found out it was time to move (military brat), the first thing I thought of was how I'd miss my dance classes. I tried a few dance studios at my new location, but ended up quitting because they could not compare to Leah. She was awesome, taught well, and was really admirable. If I was still living in Altus, with a daughter, I would definately enroll her there. Leah, if you read this, it's been about 16 yrs... nice to see you're still there. couldn't find you on any networking sites(?)
What a wonderful place for children to be taught! My daughter has been taking dance at this studio for many years and has learned so much. Leah takes pride in her studio and has only the best interests of all her students in mind. The level of skill taught at this studio is unsurpassed in the area. Leah stays up to date with all forms of dance and strives to keep up with current trends in dance. If you are new to the area and would like your child to have the best dance education possible you need to go to Off the Wall Dance Productions!
I am the owner of this dance studio and am rating my students and all of their accomplishments wether at competition, in class or scholarship auditions, with 5 stars. Since opening my doors in 1985 I have had many young people walk through them, find a second home and when life demands, dance out to another adventure. One thing I have learned is that you can't please everyone and today, reading the first review brought that painfully home. I do want to defend my 23 years of providing what I feel is quality dance education to Altus and it's surrounding communities. It has always been my goal to provide my students quality dance training that enables them to stand their own when competing with the "big city" studios. My students have competed with those big city students in regional and national competitions and have earned a long list of awards and our shelves are filled with the tangible proof of our hard work and dedication to the art of dance. In my opinion, dance classes must be very structured and disciplined to provide quality training. On rare occasions this same structure and discipline which has helped build my successful career seems unappealing to some people. It has been almost two years since the first and only "review" was posted and my initial response was to turn the other cheek and say the quality of my students speaks for itself. I am aware that many people new to the area will research on-line and this review will make an impression. I will finish my reply with this: I am very proud of my students, past and present, and have been truly blessed to have had them in my studio. My list of satisfied clients is very long. I stay in contact with former students who are dancing professionally, students who move to new places and continue dance with compliments on the quality of training that they received at Off the Wall Dance Productions and young adults who tell me that because of the discipline learned in my classes they were better equipped to stand up to life's challenges. I proudly stand behind my 22 professional "end of year concerts" (recitals), my 5 (complete) Nutcracker performances and the many dedicated young artists who, with my studio, have graced stages from Altus to Orlando. If you are looking for quality dance education and are reading this and the other review, please give me and my studio a chance to show you what we are really all about. To all my students past and present thank you and I love you dearly! Maybe you can write a nice review :) Miss Leah
