| About: | In 1940, the Cuellar brothers opened the first El Chico, serving their Mama's very own recipes for authentic Tex-Mex cuisine. Over fifty years later, we are still committed to serving the best. We use only the freshest ingredients in all of our dishes. Our steak fajitas are made with a fresh, never frozen, quality cut of beef and we make our own salsa, chips, beans, rice and other specialties fresh throughout the day. We've got award winning Margaritas, and we couple our food with great service and good prices. |

What a let down. Soda is $2.09...rediculous. Charge the kids full price for milk...let's nickle and dime everyone to death. Service is metiocre at best unless you catch them on a "good day." When the food is good, it's great, but that's only on the occasion the owner strolls into town. Management berating employees in front of guests. Often the server staff is overwhelmed while the scary hostess is sending text messages. Complain about your food and you run the risk of entertaining the management while they throw free dessert at you. Bar drinks are overpriced and poorly made. The one redeeming quality? That cajun guy Chez Willie. He's great!
Pretty Good for a Chain Restaurant: The food quality at El Chico is pretty good. And as with most mexican restaurants, you won't leave hungry. They serve a variety of dishes, so if mexican food isn't exactly what everybody wants, there are other options available. The fajitas are an excellent choice as is the Cascabel Steak. There isn't much there that I wouldn't eat, but if you're bringing the family, you can rack up quite a bill. But then again, if you're bringing the family, you're probably doing more that just eating there, as it is located in Central Mall.
Very good: Best mexican food in Lawton. I love the top shelf quesadillas. And they have a yummy chocolate cake that two people could easily share. Very kid friendly too.
