My first and only time I went there, we got seated and the owner, Kris Kinzie comes up to us (my husband is from Cushing and used to work at that restaurant as a teenager), and says "Well, this is a different one this time huh?" Referring to me being a different female he brought in there that time. As if I was some kind of floozy and my husband was a player. Yes, Kris, maybe I was a different one than the last time, because it had been 8 years since my husband was last in there! What a jerk! My husband and I had only been dating maybe a month at the time. I was so upset that I couldn't eat and wanted nothing more than to get the heck out of there. I honestly don't know what the food tasted like, but the service was absolutely horrible. I hope a new steakhouse comes into Cushing and blows that place outta the water!
I used to work for steer Inn when I lived in Tulsa, OK.. They started a new resturant there and it was ok at first. I worked there for 11 months worked 3 different jobs there at the sametime and got paid crap, a wopping 5.50 and one day I show up for work and the place was closed down.. So yeah they weren't to great to there employees, considering they didnt call any of us and say theres no more work there.. And Guy, yes that is true they did reuse there dinner roles.. Working in the kitchen I saw some really gross things. After working there its been hard for me to eat out at other places cuz who knows what other people do to your food when you order it.
Sadly the changes made last year to the menu has changed our favorite local restaurant into our least favorite in the entire State!
The prices have increased, the quaility seems to have been lowered And buffet prices higher than Tusla or OKC.
Since the change in menu and quality and prices, we went from patronizing this restaurant 3 to 4 times a Week to Less than ONCE a MONTH!!!

Every once in awhile we give Steer in another chance to prove us wrong. Seems the service has slowed to a snails pace. The food hasn't improved. The Shrimp and steaks remain Ok. But we see other things downgraded. Like something simple like the Ketchup going from Hunts to a brand we never heard of. I love lemon in my Coke. It takes at least four from Steer Inn to equal one smallish wedge. I'm not sure how the sliced onions are stored, but they are absolutely awful and if you asked for grilled onions on your hamburger. Skip it, they are so off taste and so yucky it's not worth the effort to order them.. The "homemade" pies look good but don't know as by the time it's desert time, I'm usually so disillusioned I skip it and go home. Up until 2007 I would have said order anything off the menu. It's all great! Now? Buyer beware.
