the hitchin post is a great place and everyone is like family. wyema the owner is a wonderful person and is very picky about her bartenders, the bartenders are wonderful and everyone luvs kerrick even though he isn't giving up his bud light. phillip is so good at kareoke he keeps the people wanting to sing. kelly can sling some drinks and still make her customers laugh, and feel welcome. ronnie has some jokes at times that would keep a person in stitches. for a good time anytime come on in to the hitchin post but please have your ID on you.
Favorite Watering Hole: Th "Post" ( as we call it) is your basic local redneck watering hole. If ya can handle the locals (lol, seeing as I am one of them) it's not a bad place to hang out. The two pool tables aren't bad, and although I carry my own stick thier sticks are mostly in good shape. The juke box has a decent variety of music (although it could use a bit of updating) there are ample tables and some nice little corners a person (or persons) can hide away in, if wanted. The bartenders are usually pretty good. Most of the girls make a good drink and do a nice job of keeping up with the bar. If it's busy you may have to make it to the bar to get your drink, but that is because they don't usually keep waitresses in there. (my favorite bartender right now has to be Summer...girl you so funny and you always have my drnk ready by the time I get my stick together) Its hard to get a favorite as they do tend to change on a fairly regular basis. It depends on what time of what day you go in, as to what kind of clientel you will find. It runs a wide variety, but on an average you can usually find at least one familiar face in the crowd. Wednesday night is kareoke and Laurie is a lot of fun and sounds real good when she sings for ya. On a semi-regular basis they will have a live local band in on Friday or Saturday nights. (if ya get the chance to go see Deeper...go, they ROCK) It varies between rock and country, but it's usually a good time. All and all, if you are looking for a neighborhood corner bar to hang out at where you can get to know the locals and who knows, maybe hear your name called as you walk through the door ...*Norm*.... the Post is usually good for a fun night. I would say on a scale of 1-10, I would have to give it about an 8 on an average night.
