We have eaten at Clanton's many times. The food is average for a smaller city eatery. One thing I do like are the varied wall hangings. This restaurant has been around a while and is part of the old route 66 drive. Enjoy!!
Love the Family Tradition on Route 66: In 1966 I was introduced to a small town cafe just over the railroad tracks on Route 66. I never dreamed that 39 years later I would still be stopping in for a good down-home meal at least once a week.
Clanton's is a four generation family cafe. The first owner opened in 1927 and has passed the business down through the generations to the present owners.
The special of the day consists of chicken and dressing; or chicken and noodles just like grandma made. Home made hot rolls and choice of vegetable, salad or soup are all included in the menu. Then there's the homemade pies ranging from coconut, chocolate, cherry cheesecake and more.
Breakfast is always a delight with hot biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage and pancakes, to name a few.
Of course the owners always find time to make you feel like part of the family with a warm smile and a pat shoulder or a handshake.
Some things never change, which is true with Clanton's. Good food, good service and a friendly atmosphere draw us back time and again.
On the back of the menu is this statement: "Please accept our appreciation and sincere thanks for letting us serve you. Sometimes in the rush of business life we fail to say thank you loud enough. But you can be sure your Patronage is never taken for granted. Our aim is to please and satisfy you. To serve you is a real privilege."
The Clantons have been faithful to their word. It is indeed their desire to please, and they go out of their way to do so.

We hadn't eaten at Clanton's for years and decided to give them a try. Tired of the Fast Food places in Vinita! Boy were we shocked! We got to sit at a dirty table! And the waitress didn't bother to clean it off! She was real busy conversing with people at a nearby table! I guess we interrupted her good time. Anyways, My husband ordered Fried Chicken and I ordered the Chicken and Dressing! The waitress all but threw the food at us! As we were trying to eat the Extremely Hard Fried Chicken and I was trying to force down the Chicken and dressing ( should have been named plaster), we realized that she didn't even bring our drinks where we could wash the nasty stuff down! We had to ask the owner for our drinks! Needless to say, we did not leave the waitress a tip! She definitely needed a tip, one on how to treat people a little better! I have had a lot of people tell me that if you eat there, to order the Cheeseburger and Fries, you can never go wrong with that one! I say save your money and treat yourself to a Good Family Restaurant out of Vinita!
