We visited The Rheingarten on a sunny September afternoon and chose to sit outdoors in the covered "Biergarten." The Franziskaner could have been a little colder, BUT - the food was excellent, hot, freshly prepared, and very authentic. The menu has a good selection of schnitzels, plus rouladen, sauerbraten, prime rib, a couple of chicken entrees, bratwurst, and knockwurst; dinners come with your choice of soup or salad and two side items, along with a bread basket. I had the grilled bratwurst, spaetzle with pork gravy, and their red kraut; everything was YUMMY!! Hubby tried the homemade sauerkraut with his dinner and it was fantastic; that'll be my choice next time. I haven't had German food this good since Ursula's in Tulsa closed. I used to live in Germany so I'm kind of a German food snob; the Rheingarten is definitely worth the drive, we made the trip from Claremore in under an hour. We'll be back, and soon! Closed Monday & Tuesday; after Labor Day, open Wednesday - Friday 4 PM - 9 PM, Saturday 11 AM - 9 PM, and Sunday 11 AM - 3 PM.
I was in town on business and decided to try this place. The food was very good, I had the rolunade or something like that. It was very delicious. If you are in town give it a try!
We love this restaurant!! My mother is German born and is very picky about authentic German food. Not since the days of Berghoff's in Chicago have we found such wonderful German cuisine. We get there early to get their rouladen, although everything on the menu is the best. The last couple of times we've gone, we manage to take a big group to introduce them to this fabulous restaurant. Well done Terry, Gabbey and her mother, who started the whole thing. Everyone should try this restaurant!
