It is the best pizza in town and the calzones are wonderful. Lived there for fourteen years they've been the best. The salads were pretty good, too.
We were staying in McAlester for a business trip with my husband's company. He was in the mood for pizza and so we thought we would give Fat Boys a try since we can have Pizza Hut or Domino's anytime. I have to admit as we drove north towards the old downtown I was concerned a bit with the neighborhood but we persevered and made it. It was on a Monday night around 6:30pm and no one else was there besides the personnel. We went in and a female employee was cleaning and didn't rush to help us. I looked at her and smiled and asked how she was, she said fine. She asked if we were there for a pick up? (I think the majority of people pick up instead of eat in) I told her no and that we were from out of town and would eat in. We ordered a sausage calzone for around $12 and a medium pizza with canadian bacon for $11. We sat down in the dining room which was a brown and sage green decor with a mish mash of wood, plaster and tin walls, they had a pool table and Ms. Pac Man game which our boys liked. Our calzone and pizza were brought out shortly. The calzone was awesome! The cheese, sausage and tomato sauce were delicious and the calzone crust was golden brown and crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside! Just wonderful! The pizza was very good but hands down the calzone was the best! Very good we would go again for calzone alone!
Great place, I was a couple minutes late picking up my pizza, they were closing but still had it ready for me. Great Pizza and friendly people.
