Good Food-Good Service at Don Juan's for sure !!!!!
When I was a lad I worked as a mud man for Mr Kent and he did the tile work for building the Griddle System as is was know in the 50's. It was a hang out for all of the lads and ladies that went to old Grand Prairie High School. The GOPHERS (name for the GP football team)would always drive around the building IF they had a car to see if any girls were at the cafe. NOT ME (no car). There was about 12 stools in the front area and eight booths down the west side. You could see in the kitchen area and all of the employees wore paper caps and an apron. It was open all night. The manager had several that he was in charge of in the Dallas and Fort Worth area. Two was in the Oak Cliff area and one of these was near Sunset High School. There was also one near Massey's Cafe on 8th Avenue in Fort Worth. I think the failure of the system was just too many teens and that hurt the business. Well I have to admit some of us got a LITTLE out of line at times. In the summer time the old black crickets would cover the outside wall as winter approached. A lad (C.D.) wold take his sling shots and try to hit the birds that were nesting in the tree on the west side of the parking lot. Mike L. was a friend of all the kids and he was always at the Griddle after a football game. He took a lot of kidding and that shows his kind heart. Skillens Drug Store and a Food Store was across the street and Seven Eleven wasthe East on Hiway 80. Much more to be told. SHHHH don't tell all of the good stories. UCR

The Place to eat: Has wonderful food and the staff is great. My husband loves going here on thursday nights for their taco specials.

My favorite Mexican food: I've been eating here for 40 years, and have never been disappointed. The food is always great and the service is fast and friendly. I try to eat there once a week when I can. My wife and I almost got married there, we love it that much!
