DRIVE BY AND YOU WILL SEE WHAT I MEAN!
SAD SITUATION.
I'm not perfectly certain of how a cemetery should be reviewed. I'm fond of this one though. Most of my local family is buried here, and they were not paupers, but rather residents of this area going back as far as the mid 19th century. Teachers and principals who taught my parents in elementary school are buried here, and thankfully not all of the cemetery is the modern easy-to-mow sytle.
Most of the heavily decorated graves are in a recent area and are in keeping with certain cultural traditions. Personally I find the devotion charming. This is a nice older cemetery in which reflects the demographic of the area, and a pleasant place for those of us who have dead here to remember.
Southland Memorial Park: This is the Dallas County Paupers Cemetary. You will find make shift markers, tequila bottles and all sorts of items on graves. This a place you can put almost anything as a tribute. Some may consider this a positive thing. Many of these graves are much like the roadside memorials you see when there has been a traffic fatality. This is not a place I would want to bury my friend or loved one. You see this place and you will run to purchase a prearranged burial plan.
