I read the reviews and thought hey this should be a nice place to go and its close! Sadly, I was very disappointed with the food. If you want cheep sushi that is alright this is not a bad place. Keep in mind its not a good place either.
The sushi that should have avocado had cucumber. Very basic sushi, but the price is reasonable.
The bento is alright, but nothing I would recommend. The Teriyaki beef was hard and rubbery, they user potatoes instead of sweet potatoes. The Gyoza was far saltier then I had ever had.
And sadly, that was the best part.
The Shrimp Yaki sooba was the worst I have ever had or seen. Instead of fried noodles shrimp and cabbages. It was boiled ramen noodles, cabbage and the exact shrimp from the shrimp tempura in the bento box that had been cut up. It was then covered in tempura sause.
The miso was instant miso that you get at any Americanized grocery store.
To top it all of its not cheep for Japanese.
If you really want a lot of sushi I would recommend Toyko One on East Belt line Road in Addison off of the Dallas North Tollway. They are 24 dollars a person and all you can eat of any kind.
For good sushi close to this Midori (believe it or not) is great; its off of 114 and MacArthur.
I had a late night week day dinner at Hanasho. I ordered the 16 piece sashimi combo with miso soup and Oyokayama cold sake.
I sat at the Sushi bar and talked to Mr Suzuki. The food is excellent and he knows his stuff. Things are quite slow here late at night as most folks head for downtown Dallas. His knives are sharp, and the presentation is good. We talked about sushi, Japanese knives, how he sharpens them, Japanese culture and he showed me his knives on request, a very hard working and sharp Yanagabe, a Deba, and a very old Japanese western style slicer. He also let me look at a catalog to order high quality knives. It was a great honor, quite impressive and the conversation was good.
The price is very reasonable. They are a good deal and I highly recommend eating here.
this is a worst japanese resturant i have ever seen, food comes out to be very slow and server are disgusting
