Here it is, the second week of December, 2008. I have pondered lasik surgery for a couple of years now, and am ready to close the deal. Visited Dr. Mazaheri for a free consultation. Apt. was at 3:30...I was speaking with him 20 min later...fairly prompt for a doctor, compared with the wait time at other lasik surgeons I've heard about....oh well. After speaking with the Dr., he determined I was a good candidate for lasik, and I determined he was the doctor for me. Nice and courteous staff, reasonable price....lets do this. My surgery was scheduled for 8:15 am. I arrived at 7:45 am and was in surgery pretty close to the scheduled time. During surgery, I felt no extreme pain.....it was more reminiscent of being in the dentist office...but without the drill. When they used the laser I saw a faint puff of smoke for a hot second, and that was it. Actual surgery took 10 to 15 minutes. Immediately after surgery I could see....this is great. I was suprised that no blood or swelling was present around my eyes. For the next 3 hours my eyes hurt, so I applied the eye drops to my eyes and went to sleep. Six hours after surgery, I was looking at TV and reading a magazine. This is amazing. Next day I went to work as usual. No one could tell that I had surgery. My eyesight was as good or better than my contacts 1 day after surgery. Since then I have gone to my followup visit and all is well and my eyesight is getting better. Thanks Dr. Mazaheri.
