These guys are the best! Just had to have my brakes fixed on a 2004 Chevy Suburban. Like an idiot I accidentally put some power steering fluid in my brake master cylinder. Didn't think much of it when I did it. Well, a few months later started having problems. Eventually my brakes siezed while I was driving! Was able to get it to Huffines Chevrolet in Plano. They looked at it and told me it would be $3000.00 to fix it. They told me I needed to replace the whole brake system. Almost had a heart attack!! Had a feeling Huffines was ripping me off. Did a search for Plano Brake repair on the internet and saw excellent reviews for Mastertech. Called them up and told them the situation, also told them I had been given a price from Huffines for the repair. ( I didn't tell Mastertech what that price was). Spoke with Bill and he told me he would call me back in 15 minutes with a price. He said he needed to check on parts. Sure enough, he called me back in less than 15 minutes. I was bracing myself for his price (figuring it may be what huffines quoted me...$3000.00), He told me it would be around $1750.00, could be a few hundred more or less depending on how much hose they actually needed. Told them to do the work. they arranged for a tow truck to pick my vehicle up from Huffines. Here's the best part, they looked at the vehicle and said we think you only need to have the Master Cylinder replaced. They said if that didn't fix it then they would explore further options. told me it may take 2-3 days to complete. They called me the next day and said come pick it up, it is fixed!! I said, "Really, how much?" The total repair was $650.00 !!! They have a customer for life and I have already referred a customer to them. They did exactly what was needed and didn't try to sell me any kind of extra fixes or gizmos. Very professional company. Will always send any of my vehicles to them when I need repairs. If you are having any auto issues, these guys are worth the 2nd opinion.

    Trustworthy - Honest - Capable

NTB replaced my spark plugs and cross-threaded one of the plugs. My wife was driving the truck when the plug blew out of the head, creating a major issue. I took the truck back to NTB, but they did not have the capability to do the fix. So, I went to Bankston Ford in Frisco, who wanted to replace the head for $4,000.

I called Mastertech and told them the situation. The owner wasn't clear what the answer would be, but they wanted to look at the truck.

I had the truck towed to Mastertech and later that day I received a call telling me that they could do a helicoil and it would cost me $230 dollars.

1.5 years later, and my truck runs great and it didn't cost me $4,000.

    Lessons learned:

    1. Don't go to NTB - they put the wrong spark plugs in the truck (performance vs. stock) and cross-threaded the plug.
    2. Don't go to NTB - they didn't take ownership of their mistake.
    3. Don't go to Bankston - they are notorious for wanting to replace things instead of fixing the issue (they wanted to replace my Air-Ride system for $1,500 dollars, when the fix was a 5 dollar clamp).

    4. Trust Matertech - I've been going to them for 2 years now and they're honest and straight forward. They never add things to the list of problems and will always call you if they find something that needs a look at.

It's so difficult in finding people that you can blindly trust in the autocare industry. I trust these guys whole heartedly.

Finally, they also referred me to a transmission shop who were also very honest. The transmission shop could have charged me $2,000 dollars for a overhaul, and instead, they told me about a manufacturer recall that saved me that money.

Honest people doing business with honest people.

    Good luck!

This place is AMAZING! I have gotten both of the family cars fixed here multiple and they have done a superb job everytime. The office is clean and the shop is well kept. I had one car that needed a new brake system and they took me out and showed me everything that was wrong and what the brakes should have looked like. The prices are very reasonable and the serivce is beyond words. Keep up the great work guys!!!
