User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsI don't know where the rest of you have been eating BBQ, but this place sux! I grew up in Mesquite and over the years I have given this place many chances to improve and it hasn't changed. The chopped beef is the worst. If you can immagine taking all the scraps and fat and putting them together in some nasty sauce then you got a chopped beef sandwich from Mesquite BBQ. I have not been there in a very long time. There are too many better BBQ places to eat at in Mesquite than to waste anymore money at this one. I think that most of it's patrons grew up here and ate at Mesquite BBQ because, in the early years this was the only BBQ place to eat at in this town. I am a BBQ connoisseur and this place just deosn't have what it takes. Be adventurous and try some of the other places and you may be pleasantly surprised.

Other than the chopped bbq sandwich, which I consider fair, the rest of the food was terrible. The baked beans came directly from a grocery store can, no seasoning or taste. The potato salad also comes from some place like Sam's Club. The pies are from some local bakery. Nothing there is made there, just heated up. Not sure if the bbq sauce is their own but lacks flavor, spices or anything interesting. Reminds me of tomato soup. After eating there I did some asking around and was told by locals that it used to be good years ago but suggested we should look elsewhere for good bbq.

I have to disagree with you. I know the owner makes the potato salad, and they smoke their own meat and make their own bbq sauce. Sounds like you had a bad day or someting.

I agree, must have had a bad meal. I have eaten there several times and always like the food, especially for the price.

Are you sure you were at the Mesquite BBQ on Davis? We go there once every other week. Their food is terrific!

you need to get your taste bugs checked the food there was great and they have a line everytime I go. They have been around for 50 years guess they are doing something right love there potatos
