This nostalgic open-air burger stand has been located on Hillcrest for years. Picnic tables are scattered around and there is an old-fashioned burger bar inside. Hands down, the hamburgers are the big winners with the Garlic-Salted Fries coming in a close second. Iâve have had better airplane food. No seriously!! So we said something to the waiter and he acted like everyone says that all of the time. All of the locals know that you go there for dinks and the view but NOT for the food!!!
I've been here a few times, once on our 1 year anniversary and we tried again on our 2 year anniversary.
The food is second rate and I get better service at McDonalds. The only thing this place has going for it is the view. The waiters were terrible, it took us 30 minutes to be seated even though I made reservations 2 weeks in advance, and the food tasted like it came out of a can and was way over priced..... It was absolutely TERRIBLE!
I asked to be seated away from the crowd because I was going to propose to my fiancé. The hostess refused and sat us right next to a large loud group. The slap in the face was 20 minutes later (before they even took a drink order) she starts seating people in the area she refused to seat us.
Absolutely terrible! I complained to the manager who told me something to the effect of he doesn't care about the locals because most of his business comes from out of towners. It went something like that "even though most of our business comes from out of towners we really appreciate the local business from our Dallas residence and I will make sure this doesn't happen again" and walks off. Doesn't even offer to get a waiter to our table or get us drinks".
The first time around we left and it ruined the anniversary. The second time around I just bit my tongue the entire time because my fiancé really really wanted to go have a good experience there.
Total waste of time and money! I recommend going to Fogo De Chao instead. Great food and unbelievable service, great ambience and actually less expensive than Antares-

If you were lucky enough to have known Jack K. you wouldn't even consider eating a burger anywhere else. The man is a legend and his burgers are without peer. If you ate there 2 or more times he wouldn't even ask what you wanted. He knew. He'd just smile and nod.

Are you on drugs or what? You said you asked the waiter to be seated away from the crowd?? What are you talking about?? This is Burger House. It has a very small counter and most everyone takes the food to go. I think you are very confused. However if you think Antares is an upscale restaurant it speaks volumes about your expectations.
Sorry buddy but you are a complete idiot. Waiters at Burger House? The only reason you would have to wait 30 minutes for a table is because it is that good. Like Pink's in L.A. you have to wait for a good thing. You are completely wrong on this one. You probably went to the wrong restaurant!
