I decided to take my Wife & two daughters (16 & 13) during spring break. We showed up 75 minutes before the performance. Since we had pre-ordered tickets, we were able to avoid most of the line. Not too bad.

Once inside, we were hustled through a picture & moved into the bar/shop/castle waiting area. We were able to find one of the few seats next to the horse stalls. Good thing...because the crowd got rather large.

My daughters attended the Torture Chamber museum. Best Deal in the place...$2.00 each. They thoroughly enjoyed it. We recommend this adventure.

Meantime we started hearing how the beer & margaritas (with souvenir mugs) sold for $25. I was like WOW! The souvenirs were equally outrageous in cost. Regardless of the cost, I kept watching people spend way beyond typical means for these items. I found it to be a tad exploitive.

Once the crowd was summoned inside....it was a cattle drive..lol. No reason to hurry...because the seats are reserved & numbered. The seats are very comfortable once inside. We were in the corner about 3 rows up. There seems not to be a bad seat in the house.

Our waiter was friendly & gave his canned spill. Only thing that bothered me...was that he ended it by saying he survives on "our tips"...that the King does not really pay him. Oh well.....we tipped him very well.

The waiter we had.....worked extremely hard. He was even part of the floor show. However, as others say....you will die of thirst ....as they are VERY stingy with refills of cokes & tea (only one refill). The food was surprisingly good...but greasy....which made the thirst issue even harder to bear. Of course they want you to call a bar waiter over & order some of those ridiculously expensive drinks. We resisted with cotton mouth...lol.

The show itself was very good. Of course our knight was the first one eliminated (of course all staged). The knights are good athletes & showman. My daughters loved them. However, according to a vendor...they are all 'players' & full of themselves...lol. This became more evident as we are leaving the lobby after the show. I passed our knight and tapped him on the shoulder saying.."you gotta toughen up buddy". He looked at me as if I didn't realize it was staged & I was an idiot. Very cocky.

On the way home...we all had stomach aches. Nothing terrible...but figured it was from the greasy...but very tasty food.

Overall it is an event I would do once & only once. If you do not have kids.....I would say skip this for better adult entertainment.

Read Chris's negative review which made me hesitant. Took the chance with family and kids in town and had a memorable experience. I can only assume he was having a bad night or was not comfortable with the mildly chaotic atmosphere. First the good. Food was tasty and filling, service was good, performance was entertaining and fun, and they did a good job of balancing viewing the show with serving dinner. overall a very good time. The bad. Fairly long wait (40 min?) beforehand in the lobby, museum area. time passed quickly though. Noise level was high at times during the show and ears were almost ringing afterwards. Had a hard time hearing our server talk due to his hispanic accent and overall noise level. Time from recommended arrival to end of show was about 3 hours so it's a long evening.

Suggestions: bring the camera and a fun attitude, this is not a visit and talk dinner show. Seating is all arranged to face the horse arena so you can really only talk to someone sitting on either side of you (loudly). They encourage yelling and cheering. If your sensitive to sound some ear plugs are recommended. I had the vegetarian meal which can be reserved. I thought it was better than half a chicken, spare rib, and half a tater unless you must have meat. Bring a bottle of water so you won't worry about missing the server. Servers come by in less frequent intervals so if your used to instant ketchup or water you might get irritated. see point 1 about a fun attitude. They do a fair amount of selling throughout including during the show, but it was not annoying or excessive. Souvenirs are expensive (for what your getting), the photo they take of your group as you enter costs $20 (but is well done). I have no trouble saying no thank you and did not feel pressured in any way to buy anything. Window shopping is fun and cost nothing.
The greatest comment and rating I can give is, would I go back? With earplugs in hand and as a treat for family or guests I would say yes.
