About:Mattito's is a perfectly located restaurant that is vibrant, has a great patio and serves fantastic food. If you've never been here, you can fit right in by ordering the "Bob Armstrong Dip"it's not on the menu and never has been, but is truly decadent and a meal in itself. A lighter option, the De Marisco Salad, is filled with spicy sauteed shrimp and scallops. After, segue into their famous "Platillos" or a Platillo a la Parrilla which is grilled tenderloin medallion with seared jumbo shrimp. Desserts do not disappoint with the Mexican Chocolate Cake sprinkled with cinnamon and vanilla bean ice cream or the Tes Leches of white cake with caramel and cream cheese icing.

Went to Mattitos with two friends last night.. was embarressed by the plate presented as chile relleno, which is in every other restaurant a large pepper (usually poblano) stuffed to make a wonderful presentation. Mattitos chooses a tiny dot of a bananna pepper type, stuffed with nothing, and piles stuff on top. One guest was a restaurant manager, and the other is from Cuernavaca and declared "no way this is a chile relleno! Also, the cheese enchiladas I ordered were cold, only slightly warm in places. Doubt I'll return there.

NASTY!!! Bad service, worse food and too proud for watered down drinks. I've worked in this industry for a long time and I was embarassed by this place. This is more of a warning, DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!

I first went to Mattitos in 1995 and have been a fan of the restaurant ever since. However, over the past 3-4 years I've noticed what seems to be overall slip in quality of both food and service especially. While not horrible by any means, they seem to be experiencing negative efforts of growing as a result of their popularity...that or their chef just sucks. Service can be very good as usual or it can be pretty unremarkable...not bad, just unmotivated.
