Bob's is always great. We come back time and again for the steak. Always prime and always perfect. We love sitting at the bar to watch a great game and enjoy a fabulous meal!
This place use to be GREAT? what happened? Did they change management? My last 3 visits were horrible! No more for me!
We decided on Bobs for our 10th Anniversary. When we arrived, they had our reservation and immediately sat us. This is where it all fell apart. The hostess took us to a table that still had stuff on it from the prior seating. Granted the table was being cleared. So we had to stand in the middle of the dining room for 5 minutes while the busboy cleared the table. When my wife went to sit down, she sat in food that stained her white pants. The busboy came back and decided he should clean the seats. After sitting down we realized that only one of the four place settings actually had silverware, napkins, and glasses. The busboy came back with the proper setup, constantly asking my wife and me to move so he could set the table. About 10 minutes after we arrived and were seated, our table was finally set and ready for use. 15 minutes later the server actually came to our table. Along the way someone, fortunately, had given us water and stale bread. The server showed up with a used tray of baked potato condiments and proceeded to set them in front of us. She told us she would be right back and whisked off. 5 minutes later she decided to show up again and wanted to take our order. No "hi", no drink order, no rundown of the specials just "can I take your order." Needless to say we walked out immediately. Every step of the way we kept thinking that this can't get any worse. Bob's had such a great reputation certainly we are misreading the situation. Finally, though, we had it and just could stomach dropping $300-500 for our special night on a restaurant that didn't seem to care. To make matters worse, we were seated in a room with plasma TVs playing ESPN Sports Center. Really? TVs? In the restaurant? With ESPN at a noticeable volume? Not even Outback or Salt Grass would stoop to that level! With so many positive reviews and friends recommendations we had such high hopes. But as the saying goes you have one chance to make a good impression. This was anything but a good impression. There are just too many upscale steak and chop houses in the Dallas area to have to live with this type of service.
