| About: | If there ever was a model for a fine Texas steakhouse, this would be it. Art collections, on loan from loyal customers, keep you staring at the walls and exotic game heads keep the walls staring back. If you're ready to spend and enjoy an exotic offering of wild game, order the Porterhouse Game Plattera rack of elk, barbecued quail, a razorback filet in walnut sauce, sauteed emu, and rabbit. For somewhat tamer, yet no less tastier red beef, the Kansas City Cut Boneless Sirloin is an excellent choice. |

My husband and I go to Pauls a couple of times a year, on special occasions. The steaks are great, the best in Dallas. It is worth the price, and the steak comes with soup or salad and a baked potato. On Valentine's day they have a special, you get two meals and a dessert for like 80 bucks. We are not big drinkers, but they have a heck of a wine selection.
It's located on old restaraunt row, not the best area but worth the drive. Maybe they will open another location some day. The atmosphere is my favorite, very quiet and dim with candle light. I absoultely love this place!
This is definitely the hidden gem of Dallas steakhouses. Service is awesome and the steaks are delicious. I had the Prime Filet and was in heaven. They also have a killer bananas foster. If you want to try something a little different, the quail soup is very tasty. And the waiter was right, it does taste a little like chicken. The only drawback is they only have one location in the old Restaurant Row, right next to the old Don Carter's bowling alley. I live in Plano, but it is worth the drive to dine here a few times a year.
As Good As It Gets: For my wife and I this is not a place we can afford for a regular night out. So, when we decide it's time to splurge we expect everything to be perfect, and we also want to be treated like we are valued customers. Paul's delivers every time. The steaks are the best I have ever tasted and the staff is very friendly. The few times we have been there, we have had the same waitress more than once. If the staff is staying year after year that says something about the place.
One thing we really like is that salad/soup and the other extras are included. I will never understand charging $30+ for a steak and it not include salad or a side.
Paul's is not the trendy/big-name place but that's okay with us. For us, it is our "special place". Hopefully it will stay just like it is.
