The food is pretty good for a chain, but as a chain the main thing it has going for it is it's great service and awesome 'green sauce' recipe.
The atmosphere is much better after the restaurant went entirely non-smoking, but could be quieter.
When I am asked to join a friend or family member for lunch and given a choice of El Chico or Two Senorita's I always pick El Chico, but heck I would pick anything over Two Senorita's.
So to be fair I would have to say that Brian Lee, et. al. run a tight ship, serve good food, and have exceptionally clean bathrooms, which my friends is a huge indicator of what goes on behind the scenes, if you know what I mean.
So if you're looking for a place to eat that's right off the interstate I would heartily recommend El Chico and while you're at it get a pound of chips, a pint of the red and a pint of the 'green' for take out...you won't be disappointed.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsGood Food...Great Service: I have been to El Chico Cafe several times and have been pleased with both the food and the service. I would highly recommend this restaraunt to anyone who loves mexican food. This is truly an excellent place to eat. Very family oriented.
